1:76 SCALE Leyland PD3A East Lancs West Yorkshire PTE-OM41113B FULLY CERTIFIED LIMITED EDITION VEHICLE REG FKY 242E, FLEETNUMBER 2242 ON SERVICE 25 HOLMEWOOD-HEATON This bus was one of 15 delivered to the Bradford fleet in 1967, 241-255 (FKY 241-255E) were the only thirty foot long forward entrance buses of that make in the Bradford fleet. 15 Daimler CVG6s with similar bodies had been delivered in the last quarter of 1966. All thirty were built at East Lancashire Neepsend subsidiary at Sheffield. The Leylands always seemed to work city centre routes whereas the Daimlers were seen on longer distance services, such as those to Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield and Dewsbury. The buses were well appointed, with blue/grey formica panels and electric buzzers rather than stop bells, which was something of a novelty in the fleet. Bradford City Transport was assimilated into the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive in 1974 with the adoption of a new Verona green and buttermilk livery. This is a Dual Destination/Split Run model.
