Stockport operated a fleet of around one-hundred and sixty buses which were mainly Leylands and a post-war fleet of sixty-five Crossleys. This was largely due to the various Crossley companies lobbying the Stockport Council to support local industry, which intensified when Crossley Motors moved from Gorton, Manchester, to the Crossley site in Crossley Road, Stockport in 1947. Numbers 207 and 225-244 were the DD42/3 models with Crossley bodies and Manchester-style dipped windows; while the others (205-264 and 309-332) were DD42/5 and their Crossley bodies had the more usual straight window line.
The 47 service ran from Cheadle, through Stockport, calling at Mersey Square, Crossley Road and then to the terminus at Levenshulme, Lloyd Road.
Every model in The Original Omnibus Company is recreated in 1:76 scale and includes a numbered, Limited Edition certificate. The range includes both modern and classic buses and coaches from some of the best known British manufactures and operators.
