Robert Laidlaw Haulage was established in 1972 by acquiring a three year old Dodge 16 tonne tipper before graduating to the ‘well used’ GUY Big J Tipper.  Rab then moved into delivering hay all over Scotland.  More general haulage work allowed Rab to buy a Leyland Lynx, but due to a road accident that lead to a year off the road he had to start his business over again with an old AEC hauling straw once more

In 1988 he purchased a Volvo F10 which marked the Laidlaw transition to tractor units hauling boxed trailers to nearby Grangemouth Docks

Son Robert soon joined the company driving a DAF, the latest addition to the fleet. Robert Laidlaw is still a family run business with established contracts including Calor Gas Scotland, their Scottish heritage is there for all to see on their beautifully liveried tractor units including this new MAN TGX
