AEC Matador Artillery Tractor - Royal Artillery Malta The Matador, distinctive with its flat fronted cab, curved roof and rear flatbed covered with either canvas or tarpaulin tilt, essentially an artillery tractor introduced by the Associated Equipment Company (AEC) during WWII, when it was used by both British and Commonwealth forces. With a length of 20 ft 10 ins, widht of 7ft 10 ins and a height of 9ft 7 ins, the 4 x 4 Matador had an average speed of 30 mph.
