Following the nationalisation of Road Transport in 1949, the ever-growing fleet became part of British Road Services, but George soon took the opportunity to buy some vehicles back again and opened for business after partial-de-nationalisation in 1954, now based in Musselburgh. The famous livery was now born. As the fleet continued to grow and the business expanded George’s two sons Ian (now Chairman) and George joined the business. Over the years the company has grown to become a major player in transport and logistics with a fleet of around 100 vehicles and substantial warehousing facilities Now in the 21st Century the day-to-day operation is in the hands of third generation Pollocks, with Ian’s sons Scott and Fraser running the business
