1:43 SCALE Mini Clubman 1100, Black - VA13502A
THIS MODEL IS BOXED IN MINT CONDITION.FULLY CERTIFIED LIMITED EDITION The Mini Clubman was launched at the 1969 UK Motor Show and featured a four inch longer square nose designed by former Ford stylist Roy Haynes plus a more luxurious interior. Originally offered in 1275GT or 1000cc guises the standard Clubman was up-rated to 1100cc in October 1975. Mr J Welch purchased the car modelled here from Walton Motors Ltd of Liverpool on August 1st 1979 and would have been able to show off his new ‘V’ registration plate on the first possible day. Antique dealer Garry Shacklady and his son, Scott, discovered the car when conducting a house clearance near their home in Chester in 2011. Although grimy, it had only covered 48,000 miles and both the subframes and general structure were solid. However, both front wings and the rear valance needed replacing so the pair stripped the car and had it re-sprayed. They also rebuilt the brakes, suspension and various other components before returning the car to the road in March 2012.
